The National Kidney Foundation estimates that Approximately 26 million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and another 20 million are at risk (NKF website). There are a variety of treatment options for people suffering from kidney disease.

The appropriate treatment for kidney disease depends on several factors including the type of kidney disease and how early the disease has been detected. Steroids are an effective form of treatment for some forms of kidney disease like minimal change GN. However, steroids are not an effective form of treatment for many types of kidney disease.
